WOW!!!

Al just emailed me this picture...WOW!! We feed the deer in our front yard but we sure don't get this many!!! Of course we don't put out that much feed either.

Dinner time in Eagle River

These people living in Northern Wisconsin put some corn out in the winter to sustain the area deer in the Wisconsin community of rural Eagle River. Posted by Picasa

Bubba...

Well I haven't posted in awhile...been busy setting up a new computer so I had to download all the software I had before. What a pain. So here's another picture of Bubba...the 10 point buck. He was crossing our laneway and I got pretty close. Posted by Picasa

Here's a cropped and edited version of the previous picture of Bubba. Posted by Picasa

Here's Bubba...

I think this is Bubba the ten point buck. I didn't look too closely at it before I posted. Posted by Picasa

Email Entries...cool!!

I just found out that I can publish to my blogs through email...only drawback is that I can't seem to include a picture. I'll keep doing some investigating on that though...I may have missed something along the way.

And I changed some settings so that way more posts are visible on the main page...this will be so much better than having to go into the archives to view all of the previous posts...for those of you with high speed anyway. I'm on dial up so now the page will take forever for me to see...haha!! Chow for now...

Ever seen a fight between some turkeys and a deer...

Because I am on dial up service I use a little program called Hello to upload my pictures to this blog. I'll be uploading a series of pictures of a deer approaching some turkeys and what happens. There are going to be four seperate posts. This is picture #1. Enjoy!! Posted by Picasa
This is picture #3Posted by Picasa

This is picture #2 Posted by Picasa
This is picture # 4. Posted by Picasa

The turkeys finally gave up the fight after the deer got in a couple of kicks. It was quite amusing!!

Stu...he's always hanging around. Got this shot while Hannah and I were walking to the school bus. He seldom leaves when we're around...but keeps a safe distance. Posted by Picasa

This is Stu...our friendly deer. We were all outside watching as Al approached with the feed bucket. Stu actually had taken a few steps towards Al but I didn't have my camera outside with me. I had to go into the house and get it...by the time I got back the deer had turned away...but only a few steps. Cool eh!!  Posted by Picasa

On one of our walks, Hannah and I decided to take a picture of some turkey tracks on our laneway.  Posted by Picasa
And here's the same shot only this one was changed to black and white. Posted by Picasa
There were a couple of deer further down our lawn along the tree line...I guess there must be some exposed long grass down there. I was very happy to get this shot, even though it's not a great picture photography wise. I altered it a bit in photoshop and I think it turned out pretty good after all.

Snowstorm pictures are the best...

The pictures that I have of the deer during snowstorms are my favorites. Posted by Picasa

I just discovered that if you click on a picture it takes you to a larger version...so if there's anything you want a closer look at just click on it!!!

Hard Times!!

Any of you that live in the Ottawa area know just how much snow we've received this year. It appears that the deer have a hard time coping with it too. As this fellow approached he kept sinking...and he sure wasn't moving too fast either. Posted by Picasa

Some great shots once in awhile...

It was simply amazing that these three were sharing...Al says it's quite unusual.

I was very pleased to get this picture...this guy was running and jumped over our laneway. I just snapped the camera in hopes of catching something on film.
